In order to promote the role of universities in global health, CUGH understands that it requires a clear voice capable of articulating issues, solutions, and suggesting policies to address global challenges. CUGH works to strengthen the abilities of its members to communicate and disseminate information to the public and policymakers.
The Advocacy & Communications Committee identifies advocacy issues and ways in which CUGH can disseminate information, mobilize, and foster collaboration amongst its members and the larger global health community, to improve the health of people and the planet.
The committee identifies issues that supports universities in their teaching, research and service activities to improve global health outcomes worldwide. The committee advocates for the improvement and growth of university-based global health programs’ capacity to contribute to reducing health disparities globally and to develop human capital and strengthen institutions worldwide. The committee works to inform the public and policymakers about CUGH’s advocacy efforts.
