Global Health Fellowship in Internal Medicine
The Global Health Fellowship aims to provide advanced opportunities in service and scholarship in both acute care and community-based primary care in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. The Fellowship is open to graduates in good standing from US Internal Medicine training programs. The program is structured such that 6 months are spent working as a Hospitalist at the Rush University Medical Center campus, in Chicago. The other six months are spent in Haiti. The goal of the Fellowship is to provide the Fellow with extensive immersion experience working in a cross-cultural setting, provide opportunity for meaningful scholarship that will improve the health of the communities being served, and to provide direct care to a population in need. Our hope is that our Fellows will go on to incorporate their knowledge, skills and perspective into the fabric of their careers, and become leaders and advocates in health equity, both home and abroad.
