OVERVIEW:

This two-day, in-person, hands-on science communication workshop will focus on building skills using current media platforms to communicate effectively with the public, policymakers, and journalists. There will be short panel presentations involving journalists and global health experts who will share insights on effective communication skills and evidence-informed communication strategies (Day 1) and identifying and countering disinformation strategies (Day 2). These panels will be scene-setters followed by practical skills building breakout sessions led by a journalist. 

YOU WILL:

- Learn how top journalists translate complex research for public, policy, and media audiences
- Practice reframing your work for non-expert readers without losing scientific accuracy
- Build tools to identify and counter misinformation, and respond to skepticism
